Get the groove (sorry
: the natural as currently said in France) out of the door, it then comes back
using the window ! To say the least, techno leads to everything, unless – as
it's generally the case speaking of Detroit – the groove itself had led to
techno… As if we'd ended up some circle going to a new cycle, as predicted by
numerous artists wherever they're coming from. Let's just hope that France won't
realize this as usual within a 5 year time ! But may be we'd better reveal the
identity of the one hiding behind this enigmatic guise : Kenny Larkin !
No folks, this is not a dream as we're talking about the one who alongside
Riche Hawtin and John Aquaviva has put the shapes to the Plus 8 label
back at the beginning of the 90's. And what a jump til this album where groove
is everywhere. Quite tempting actually to make a comparaison with Moodymann or
Prince if not Romanthony, judging by the spirit so particular and the result,
awesome, melting funk, jazz and blues on a sort of electrogenic thunderstorm
aptly to take the groove on a new dimension going far above the sole club
listening. This is modern Black music at its absolute best MFSB
