There is a small
new label out of the UK named Pantone Music which opens with a big bang on their
first release: "EP 1" by Yukihiro Fukutomi is a taster for his upcoming
long player "Equality" and contains three wonderful productions featuring
Lady Alma and Victor Davies on vocals. Uplifting and soulful grooves
that made our Pick of the Week spot.
Vega Records
released the "Elements of Life - Extensions" album by Louie Vega & Elements
Of Life on CD and quadruple vinyl which features extended versions of
selected cuts from the CD. This album contains remixes by the likes of Kenny
Dope, DJ Spinna, Joe Claussell, Glenn Underground, A
Touch of Jazz, Jazz'N'Groove, Frankie Feliciano, DJ Gregory
as wellas new productions.
Canadian label
Iwanai Music have a hot two track coming soon: "The Souls EP" will feature the
jazz house track "Back then now" by Basic Soul Unit and "Afrikan Soul" by
Stacey Mallory.
There is a booty
titled "Hook Up Tunes" doing the rounds featuring housed up version of
"Senorita" by Justin Timberlake, "All Falls Down" by Kanye West
featuring Syleena Johnson and "Floetic" by Floetry. Uplifting mixes
with a great vibe to dance to."Take Me To A Place" by Reel Soul
featuring Daemon is an emotional production with a live band lick that gets
turned into a serious garage song by Fanatix. Finally out on vinyl is "A
new day" by Stephanie Cooke, including brand new and phat mixes by DJ
Karizma and Quentin Harris in addition to the original 83 West
production. Getting deep is the JoVonn produced "It Always Comes" by
Staci T. Smith, spreading an organic vibe.
Soulfuric have
more remixes of Donna Allen's "He Is The Joy" that are only available
online
traxsource.com with DJ Sley proving a great interpretation. The
same label offers "You Can Make It" from the legendary Chicago diva Shawn
Christopher, produced by Ron Carroll and coming complete with remixes
by Jamie Lewis. On their Soulfuric Deep imprint, they thave the sweet
vibes of Audiowhores featuring Alexis Hall "Subject Of My Affection".
Mood II Swing's
classic "Closer" featuring singer Carol Sylvan is back with new mixes
by Kings of Soul. On the flip of this 12" are unreleased mixes of "Too
Close" by Hundred Birds. And back on the scene is Imperial Dub Records
after being shut down at the end of 2003. Their first release will be the
"DUBStudio Remix Project Volume One" featuring remixes of Dubtribe's "The
Rhythm In Your Mind". We have an exclusive preview of the Sean O'Daniels
reworking that comes on a mellow and melodic tip, spreading an almost ambient
vibe.
