UK jocks/promoter
Paul Farris of FourFour Promotions has decided to put an end to
the activities of his company. On an official statement, he said : Some of
the biggest changes our scene has ever experienced – new technologies, new
formats and an overall decline in sales - have necessitated that we, along with
our labels and artists, change the way we do business.
CD & mp3
promotion is definitely the way forward for most, and a newly connected and
accessible house community has helped this along even further. We are proud of
our small part in that.
Farris
will continue to work a small number of select projects; and as well as keeping
up a busy DJ schedule, hosting a show on Ministry Radio & contributing to
M8 Magazine, will maintain Paul-Farris.Com with news, reviews and great
new music. As for his now former collegues, Joel Chapman has taken up a
full-time gig at Uptown Records. Meanwhile, Mel Louise is currently
working on House Music Awards 2005 - building on last year's success to
hopefully create an ongoing event that's a tribute to all that's great about
house.
We feel that
in this way we can continue to help to give exposure to artists, DJ's, labels
and their music. And that's all
we were ever really about anyway.
With best wishes,
Paul Farris,
Mel Louise & Joel Chapman
