Would you mind having a few words as an introduction to where you're coming from, who you are and where you intend to go.

Well, we are a production company named Lefunken, aka Duron "Dipp" Tarik & Tyrone Payton. We both have been producing dance music for some time now, Tyrone starting in the 80's with the group Intense. Duron starting in the 90's with the group Soul Creation. Lefunken started in 2003 after a year of Tarik & Payton working together. The future has no end in site to were Lefunken will grow to the sky's the limit.

Where to find you and your current environment in terms of local scene/nightlife ?

We’re based out of NJ. The nightlife looks promising with new parties opening and collaborations of the best parties.

The ones you feel the closest to ?

My 2 sons (Tyrone). My Mom (Duron).

The way you work and your source of inspiration ?

The way we work is very freestyle. We just throw ideas back and fourth at each other. Inspiration comes from everywhere. Just waking up seeing the sun sometimes, that in Tyrone's gospel roots and the song ideas that pop up in Duron's head.

Your definition of a good piece of music.

A very well written story and a great production to top it off.

Your perception of the current situation and the things which need to evolve…

Well, the dance music industry needs to get back to being artist driven. More dance music producers need to move more into developing artists. That’s were lefunken and Deepa Grooves Records are going.

 

Your current projects…

Producing songs for the artists Mina, Kim Beachem & Staci Smith. while working on a Lefunken album showcasing new and well known singers.

The way you see Miami and what you expect from it ?

Miami is great to catch up with old friends and business partners from around the world who u don't see a lot as well as a place to meet new ones.

Any secret weapon of yours over there ?

Just our (Lefunken, Mina & Deepa's) vibe and energy.
