This week, we see the long awaited return for Soundmen on Wax label with two hot releases. The Jephte Guillaume remixes of Kenny Bobien‘s "Set Them Free" makes our Pick of the Week spot with its fantastic instrumentation. Second is the BOP produced "Call Him Up" by SuSu Bobien, a gospel house production with a spiritual vocal.
For jazzy house vibes, check out "Cantante" by Erik Moliere featuring Dennis Beganovic coming with some latin influences. Also on a jazzy vibe is "J'attends" by Juan Hoerni & Phil Sheeran, coming with lovely piano lines, French spoken words and a deep remix by Ron Trent.
Ruffneck featuring Yavahn present "Get It Right" is a soul filled production combining garage vibes with different jazz elements,
spreading an uplifting feeling.
"Living My Life Underground" by Mindreaders featuring Malik Hart is a 1993 Detroit house classic getting the rework treatment from S.U.M.O. who deliver a variety of different flavas ranging from deep and moody mixes keeping it close to the original sound over a grooy reworking with brand new instrumentation to a broken dub tool. Kenny Dope takes on the drum & bass track "Sing" by Roni Size featuring Jocelyn Brown and delivers a set of four-to-the-floor house mixes with slammin' drums and wicked keys.
"Signs" is Snoop Dogg's current smash featuring Justin Timberlake & Charlie Wilson, and like his previous hit "Let's Get Blown", the Dirtdiggers take it striaight to the dancefloor and turn it into a funky house jam. K Klass are back featuring the vocal talents of Rosie Gaines on "Dance With Me". Their own mixes are based on stompin' beats and spheric keys, spreading a funky vibe. Mauve adds some chunky beats and filters while DJ Spen & The Muthafunkaz twist it into a fierce garage affair.
Sueno Soul featuring Raymond Saint-Ville will have their "You Don't Know What Love Is" released soon with their original version being on a soulful tip with a funkily stompin' groove, with an alternative version coming with sharp broken beats. Also included is a remix by Robert Hayes. Benji Candelario launches his new label with "Gotta Have Love" featuring Leslie Carter, a discofied house groover that is spreading an irresistible vibe with its stormin' groove and melodic keys.
