Nippon producer
Ryota Nozaki who’s made himself quite a reputation on the Latinesque nu jazz
circuit should no doubt gain an extra substancious bit of notoriety with the
addiction of Louie Vega’s name on the credits on the remix duty.
And Although it’s hard not to recognize his particular touch, our man has
managed to provide us with a new piece of exquisite (aural) pleasure to be
compared to the much sought after ‘Embella’ for le Cirque du Soleil. What
we have here is a real sunny chillin’ delight melting lushious melodic parts
over Latin (bossa) influenced rhythmic parts (and this includes the keys such as
in the Cuban production). The Reprise, conceived as an instrumental,
giving the whole a more melancholic feel. Then we have the Club Mix
whereas Spanish influenced bits’N’bops including Gypsy vocal elements meet a
light broken beat driven rhythm. What should really be heard in Ibiza as opposed
to those usual sounds championed by a vaste majority of jocks spinnin’ there at
summertime. MFSB
