Politics Of Dancing: WE GOT OUR OWN THANG
Posted on Wednesday, August 10 @ 18:12:44 CEST by mfsb

The Politics Of Dancing

Criticizing is always kinda e-z, although being supposedly expected from a said medium, meanwhile offering solutions is by far a much harder thing. Anyway, we’ve decided to go (or at least, try to go) one step further by providing you with every path that comes to our mind in order to have a better understanding of the whole thing that gathers us on these pages. This is to come with the necessary (re)discovery of some of the main steps of our common history and the ones who’ve written it, via interviews, reviews and the displaying of the corresponding soundabytes. But also with the creation of a dedicated space (our much awaited record shop) with some of the hottest tunes to have appeared along those last 3 decades made at your own disposal. Not to mention your own collaboration, which, once again, is more than welcome in order to make this site fully yours…

Criticizing is always kinda e-z, but what is this worth for if not leaving any written trace of it in order for us to improve our performances ? This is your supposed job while using our forum to express your ideas, feelings, critics and expectations and have us reacting within the shortest period.

Too many instant infos at the same time have ended up putting us into a situation whereas many of us have progressively lost the knowledge of our history if not the sense of it, thus resulting with many people around totally aside the whole thang despite its real interest. As a matter of fact, it’s not more their fault than anyone’s more particularily but more the result of a collective responsability finding its niche on a mixture of attitudes, misinformation and the lack of real media exposure and, as a direct consequence, the lack of finances.

We, at IDMW.Com, could have ended up doing like many of our reputed collegues if not politicians keepin’ on pretending that everything’s fine on the very best of both worlds, then try to make the biggest profits out of the current system while sticking to its rules. But what about those things which have contributed to make our own identity and made you becoming regular visitors of this space ??? As a matter of fact, nothing comes from nothing and we all have to take our part of responsability on our will to be who we are, ourselves, as a media, when giving the best possible exposure to the ones we’re believing in. But also you, as readers and (also) consummers while giving resources to the actors you support the works of, should they be artists and labels, DJ’s and promoters, record stores and the very rare medias who’ve devoted themselves to the whole thang. Every single action of each of us is quintessential for it to survive, unless risking to fall under the power of the said unique thought. The only question being are we/you ready for it, if not are we/you aware of it ?

As already said, it’s always easy for each of us not to reimplicate ourselves and see the way the things are going, but the facts should prove us how improvement is impossible without any form of will from each of us, as we’ve altogether got the power to change things, if clever enough to forget about our personal interests and selfish attitudes.

You have a bit of money ? Spend it on the things you trully support. You ain’t got money ? Well, you can always contribute to the health of the whole thing while giving a bit of your individual time and energy while distributing flyers, make some word of mouth around you and use the forums.

Once again, each individual effort counts and it comes without to say that the more we’ll be able to show as a community, regardless the goals of each of us, the more we’ll be considered as a reliable alternative. It’s nothing but a matter of common survival about which we’ve all gotta be clearly aware of. MFSB
