Hot on the heels of "Calma" comes a revisited version of the Fatback Band's 1975 classic "Let The Drum Speak", with the original version recorded in a jam session between Bah Samba and Fatback's Jonny Flippen on bass and Bill Curtis on drums. This is a faithful interpretation of the classic full of funky vibes, spreading a soulful vibe. Phil Asher gives the song a soulful house outfit, drizzled with funky guitars, classy brass and superb vocal harmonies courtesy of Alice Russell. In contrast, Harvey turns out a downtempo groover reminiscent of the old school funk and soul days, with extra instrumentation added, spreading a timeless vibe.
FRANCK ROGER & M'SELEM featuring CHRIS WONDER "You Can Be The One" (Free Radikalz Remix)(Real Tone 12")

Dennis Ferrer goes for a deeply stormin' reworking that is built around the sexy vocal adlibs and the jazzy instrumentation, while Kaje goes for a laidback version that is spreading a mellow vibe.

Additional mixes by Quentin Harris will follow soon.
FEMI KUTI "Traitors Of Africa" / "Do Your Best" (Un-Restricted Access 12")
Femi Kuti, the son of the legendary Fela Kuti, returns to the dance territory by teaming up with Quentin Harris and Timmy Regisford. "Traitors Of Africa" is featured in two versions that combine that incomparable Quentin Harris sound with a churchy organ solo and Femi Kuti's vocals, by keeping the result full of afro-funky flavors. Although "Do Your Best" on the flip is produced by Timmy Regisford, there is no sign of house as this is pure afro music.

Marlon D's debut longplayer on Jellybean Soul Records is now also available as limited edition 2x12", including the so far unreleased 83 West remix of "Affection" which features Stephanie Renee on vocals. Tyrone Solomon & Martino Lozej under their 83 West moniker give it a complete re-rub based on deeply stompin' beats and melodic keys that create lovely harmonies, with the overall result being on a more laidback tip compared to the original version.
