1. INFRACom! radio show and podcast available on our homepage
A new section has been launched on the INFRACom! homepage. Pressing the button “radio” you will get to the radio and podcast section where you can download the latest podcast hosted by label founder Jan Hagenkoetter or listen to the new “Jazz not Jazz” radio show.
The first podcast is already available here and includes samples of the spring releases by Nekta, Jhelisa and Matthias Vogt Trio as well as interview snippets of these artists. You are welcome to forward the podcast to your friends, sign up to get each new podcast directly about every four weeks and give us your feedback on this new project.
2. Matthias Vogt Trio Changing Colours out now!
Matthias Vogt is a familiar name to friends of INFRACom!, he is the creative basis of the [re:jazz] project and also produces electronic club tracks by his artist name Motorcitysoul. He has proved his ability to cross the border between jazz and electronic and now shows that the trio sound completed by bass player Andreas Manns and drummer Volker Schmidt which has ever since been the backbone of [re:jazz] can be savoured by itself. The album Changing Colours is out now and features nine state of the art jazz compositions by Matthias Vogt, featuring artists like Hamburg based Roger Cicero and Dania König from Königswerq, as well as a jazzy version of the Notwist composition “Pilot“. The catchy tunes settle with repetitive listening - which is not necessarily limited to the three vocal tracks on Changing Colours one of them sung by Matthias Vogt himself.
Following the release of the album, the first Matthias Vogt Trio 12“ will be released in mid of March. “Expecting Repercussions“ has been dressed up by Truby Trio to fit the most sophisticated dancefloor while Volker Meitz distributes a futuristic take adding a sensational cosmic keyboard workout. Frost & Wagner chose „The Look Into Your Eyes“ and gave it a smooth interpretation to set off the goosebumps.
Matthias Vogt will be featured on Jam FMs Blue Note on 12. March from 6-8pm. If you cannot listen to it on your radio just check out their homepage.
3. Preview on other releases in 2005
Jhelisa has made it on to the cover of the spring issue of the world wide known jazz magazine Straight No Chaser (UK)! The editor Paul Bradshaw interviewed Jhelisa on the changes caused by hurricane Katrina, her new album and much more. So check out the new Chaser for details.
4. Nekta Water The Flowers release date approaching
Our new signing the electro club jazz duo Nekta will release their debut album Water The Flowers in the middle of March. Nathalie Schaefer, who has been a backing vocalist for Marla Glen for years, created thirteen lovely and sophisticated melodies while Gyso Hilger spent his nights doing all the programming and recording. The result is an album with a very vivid and organic character. Do not miss the chance to see Nekta live in concert at the Una Mas club night on 25. of March.
Our man in Gothenburg Andreas Saag did a remix for the first 12“ release by Nekta. The Swell Session VIP mix of „History Is Pearshaped“ will definetly end the winter season spreading spring feelings. The Japanese jazz band native who came to Frankfurt for a gig at the Una Mas club night at Walden spontaneously recorded their version of „What Nature Brings“ together with Nekta which will also be released on the „History Is Pearshaped“ 12“.
Check samples of the Nekta tunes out in the shop section of our homepage or listen to the new podcast including comments by Nathalie.
