Hey friends, It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us. Sorry for that. Anyway, here are the headlines for the latest new of Heya Hifi:
- New release from SUMO #2 at Hype Chart - Meet SUMO in Miami - Say hello to The Danceband - New partners - Ratatouille 7 - SUMO goes fashion - Sol Selectas in the kitchen
NEWS: * SUMO’s latest release and the second single from their upcoming album The Danceband features new vocal talent Clarisse Muvemba. The song titled ‘Nini’ is a very original Afro-disco-trip with that special SUMO-touch. Those of you who prefer a more electronic “Moroderish” disco version should definitely check out Claude Monnet’s fantastic remake. And if you are looking for a more raw and tracky sound we also added a bonus track called ‘Bo Ningisa’ which simply means “Shake it”. What are you waiting for? It’s already #2 entry in DJ Magazine’s Hype Chart. Full release April 3rd, promo out now on Traxsource: traxsource.com* It’s that time of the year again. Hectic promo period and sunny days of Miami Winter Music Conference 2006. Heya Hifi and SUMO will of course be there (23-30th of March) so please drop us an email if you want to talk to SUMO, do some serious business or just have a drink: mail@heyahifi.com
* There has been a lot of buzz around SUMO’s debut album since thieves broke into the studio and stole almost all their work. Anyway, the good thing is that SUMO now have accomplished to re-create and finish an outstanding piece of work titled The Danceband. The very eclectic sounding album features guest singers Aaron Phiri (Hearin’ Aid), Clarisse Muvemba, Simone Moreno, Rigas (Tribute/Factory), Thomas Eby and Hofstone. Release date is set to 22nd of May. Watch this space.
* In time for the album release, SUMO will put together a brand new live set, obviously called The Danceband, featuring a few of the artists mentioned above. Updated tour dates TBA soon. Email for bookings: bookings@heyahifi.com
* Heya Hifi would like to welcome our new partners Sarah Foote (Favourtizm), working with PR for UK/Europe, Matt Langrish-Smith taking care of the bookings in the UK and Manny@Bed cordinating bookings for South Asia.
* Now you can find the music of Heya Hifi at DJ Download, the impressive site of well known DJ Magazine. djdownload.com* We are proud to present the latest DJ mix in our Ratatouille serie. Number seven is mixed and compiled by Alf Tumble (SUMO/Bangana) and holds a clubby late night feel. See tracklist below, listen at: heyahifi.com* As SUMO are always looking around for inspiration in new areas it might not come as a big surprice that they recently have been producing music for NK, one of the most influential fashion department stores in Scandinavia. If you’re around, don’t miss out on tomorrow’s fashion show by designer Sandra Backlund (open for the public, shows at 12, 15, 17 in the main hall).

FOOD: DJ Sabo from New York’s Sol Selectas tell you how to eat like a DJ with good taste:
Sol Selectas’ Baked Pollo Parmagiano This is my own take on chicken parmagiano. It´s easier because the tomato sauce is not cooked, it´s more like fresh salsa. Also the chicken is baked, not fried, so its a bit healthier. Final bonus- it´s done on a baking sheet, so there are less dishes to do after.
Ingredients: 1 big chicken breast cut into thin fillets bread crumbs (Italian seasoned preferred) 5 or 6 fresh tomatoes handful of sun dried tomatoes tablespoon of capers red onion fresh basil fresh parsley 2 eggs parmagiano cheese mozzarella cheese garlic powder, salt, pepper olive oil balsamic vinegar
Instructions: Crack eggs in a bowl, scramble em up good. Dip chicken fillets in egg batter, then cover each in breadcrumbs. Set aside.
Dice up tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, and throw in a bowl. Chop up the red onion pretty fine and throw in the bowl. Add the capers. Grate some parmagiano cheese into the bowl. Add a little garlic powder, salt and fresh pepper. Pour in some olive oil, and some balsamic vinegar. Chop up some fresh basil, and parsley and throw that in too. Mix it all together into a chunky salsa.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Take a large baking sheet and cover it with aluminum foil. Pour some olive oil on the sheet and spread around so chicken doesn´t stick. Lay out the breaded cutlets on the sheet, and top them with the tomato salsa. Then take the mozzarella cheese and grate it over top, loosely covering each fillet with a nice little blanket of queso. Dash a little extra olive oil on top, and grate some more pepper on top. Bake everything for about 15-20 minutes, depending on how thick your fillets are.
Serve it up and enjoy. Sabo
See you in the sun, amigos!
