In Da Mix: WHOSE HOUSE IS THIS?
Posted on Monday, April 03 @ 01:17:49 CEST by mfsb

Now that Miami is definitely behind with almost everyone back at their day to day life, time has now come for the mouths to spread the word as far as the whole thang is concerned. And judging by what we’ve been reported, it looks like this is far from havin’ gone for the better which, if famialiar to our Politics Of Dancing column, shouldn’t come as a surprise…

Once again, and in the true spirit of what we think to be our job as a reputed observer, we can’t hardly help ourselves going once more to the forefront while stating how what happens from a year to another looks like nothing but a collective suicide as far as the scene is concerned. And the inevitable pics of sun tanned bimbos and body builded guys partyin’ 24 hours a day displayed as illustrations of the circumstancial After Miami reports that you’ll be up to read on the usual mags won’t change an ounce of what stands as an evidence. Da whole sh** is goin’ all the way wrong while new peaks have been reached this year. And, unless there’s some drastic change to come, I hardly see the interest of considering this event as a key meeting place in the minds of a growing amount of those fully dedicated to their art, as to be further developped this week in our correspondants reports.
It obviously seems like what appears years ago in Ibiza at Summer time sadly looks like repeating itself by the sunny shores of Florida, with the inevitable promoters takin’ once again advantage of the situation while killing the spirit and the initial purpose of the event whose initial goal – should you be reminded of ? – was to give the world a display of its indeniable creativity. And God knows how we’ve ended up getting far from this…
Quite ironical I’d be tempted to say from a scene which would see the light on the famous DIY principle some 20 years ago, calling itself a Nation and makin’ its reputation on values such as love and brotherhood. But also quite cruel in the mean time seing how those faithful minds have ended up going under slavery by a whole bunch of external peeps whose goal is to make money by any means necessary. I humbly can’t help myself feeling both sad for those who deserve much more than the attention bein’ currently given to them in regards to their talents and litterally disgusted by such a mess.

I mean, whose house is this having as theirs so many people trying to take maximum profits out of it when not givin’ a single valuable thing in return???
Whose house is this makin’ noise around hype as opposed to real skills???
Whose house is this neglecting the people who support it from Jan.1st til Dec.31st meanwhile being asked to pay astromical admission fees for the sole reason that this is THE Miami thang???
Whose house is this not taking care of the very rare of those spending time (& money) to try to give it a better exposure???
Whose house is this having some of its hosts bringing us back to the shameful period of segragation while stating that it can't be otherwise than black???
Whose house is this? Surely not mine for f*** sake as I guess it’s probably the same for a vaste majority of you.

As a consequence, no wonder how/why words start being murmured here and there about the launch of an alternative by a growing amount of people thinkin’ that this house isn’t their home anymore. And I don’t see how we could blame them on such circumstances.
Of course, this is far from being the first time that we hear about such a possibility, but chances have never seemed so great to see this endly happening one day or another. And the sooner will be the best…
