"We Don't Need No Education"
Or do we????
Thanks to DJ Bruno of Utopia Sundays... this past weekend, DJ/Producer Louie "Lou" Gorbea and I had the pleasure to entertain the Boston House Community.. Lou shared his positive energy and blessed the dancers with a musical selection that left the community in shock!!!
As I watched from the middle of the dance floor, I saw something amazing happening.. A couple of more mature dancers which attend the party regularly, started screaming from the top of their lungs... "Tell Us A Story Lou.. Tell Us A Story"!!!!! With that said... Lou dropped Classics which DJs rarely play.. Classics like, Pink Floyd's "Off The Wall", Tina Marie's "I Need Your Loving and two of my all time favorites...The Jackson 5's "I Am Love" - Reprise - with "City Country City" by War :) Some of the dancers stopped, listened and I could "feel" them going on Lou's musical journey... Talk about DEEP!!!!
At the end of Lou's classic set, a real gift was shared for the first time in a club... Lou Gorbea recently completed a new production which he wanted to reintroduce to our music community. The classic, "Walking On Thin Ice" is a New Wave/dance song originally made by Yoko Ono in collaboration with her husband, John Lennon. This danceable track was released in 1981.. It's now 25 years later and Gorbea had a urge to recreate one of his most memorable Classics... "Walking On Thin Ice" featuring the talented and beautiful Anane' brought the Boston House Community to their knees!!! And I mean this literally!!!! The dancers were losing it emotionally as they danced.. By the looks of it, Lou Gorbea's 2006 version is going to be one of this summer's greatest hits!!!!
