GROOVE JUNKIES featuring SOLARA "Paradise" (OM Records/CD Promo)
Evan Landes & Parrish Wintersmith aka the Groove Junkies continue their successful collaboration with singer Solara on this follow up to their massive hit "Just Groovin'". Aptly titled "Paradise", that is exactly the place where this track will take you when you listen and dance to it on a warm summer night. With this fierce Balearic house track, the Groove Junkies explore new grounds, offering a track built around a smooth tribal groove that is enriched with sweet percussion, with an irresistible flamenco guitar leading the way before the sexy vocals and jazzy piano are coming in. With the 'Classic Vox Mix' they bring us another one of those powerful and uplifting grooves that feature undeniable hooks and are full of jazz-funky elements, while always keeping it soulful. Only available as digital download will be an alternate Balearic mix and the Balearic instrumental version.
BACKROOM SOUNDS "Too Late" (Soulfuric Deep/CD Promo)
Sam Gibbons is behind this latest offering from Backroom Sounds that features gospel vocalist Fruity alongside a wonderful instrumentation. The track takes you back to the classic days of Philly disco, with a fantastic jazzy flute and incredible horn section alongside a spiritual vocal performance. While the 'US Connection' mixes keep it on a deep and laidback vibe, the 'Original Busta Move Mix' is firing things up by augmenting the track with funky ingredients. The Cleptomaniacs deliver an irresistible dub based on a stormin' groove that is enriched with wicked keys and a soul-funky flavor as only the latest can do. The acapella completes the package.

DJ CIRCLE "Pencilhead"/"Groovin' Through Munich" (Pêng/CD Promo)
Pêng Records drop a beauty by the likes of this release on their digital only imprint. Fabian Wondrak aka DJ Circle delivers 2 lovely tracks on this release, with the first one "Pencilhead" featuring US soul singer Sam Sparro.This is a smooth production featuring jazzy keys and beautiful soulful vocals that is spreading a laidback feeling. The second track "Groovin' Through Munich" is a geat chunky deep house track that has a discreet techy edge thanks to the keys used.
Exclusive Preview: KOI featuring SYBIL "When I fall In Love" - Koi's Frozen State Dub Mix (CD-R)
This lovely CD got on my desk all the way down from Kyoto, Japan. This must be the deepest version of Sybil's "When I Fall In Love" that has been released yet (different releases of this have been issued by various labels over the past years). Koi takes the lady’s passionate vocals and lays them over a deeply thumpin' groove that is enriched with warm melodic keys to create a mellow and laidback interpretation.
FRANCK ROGER "Remember"/"Remind me" (Real Tone)
French deep house soldier Franck Roger teams up with the legendary JoVonn for a nostalgic spoken word tribute track. While JoVonn provides the lyrics, Franck Roger is responsible for the thick groove with an old school house feeling that takes you on a journey. The flipside features "Remind Me", one of those catchy grooves only Roger can do.
RONNIE RON "The Bagan Dance" (ToT Records/CD Promo)
Ronald Overby aka DJ Ronnie Ron delivers his latest production on ToT Records (the brand new label run by Timmy Richardson). "The Bagan Dance" is a percussion driven track on a laidback tip that features a deeply rumblin' bassline and wicked keys that altogether create a hypnotic vibe that is totally irresistible. FRANCK ROGER "The Chase EP" (Seasons Limited/CD Promo)
The most busy French producer (guess he must be) drops more of his deep house medicine. The track is based on irresistible tribal house beats that get topped with acidic keys and sirens, with various layers of keys coming in later that help the track to build and build throughout its entirety.

This is a brand new and fresh production by John Crockett that is as of yet unsigned. We're talking about deepness here - "Operation Northwoods" will take you on a journey into deep house at its best. A stormin' groove that is driven by a deeply rumblin' bassline serves as playground for sweet percussion and both laminar and spheric keys which create a hypnotic feeling - perfect for after hours and early morning play.
ROBERTO DE CARLO featuring JOSHUA "Magic Star" - Unreleased Mixes (GoGo Music/CD Promo)
These unreleased mixes mark the first digital-only release for GoGo Music and are a perfect extension to the already available mixes. Alex Senna (one half of Sueno Soul) delivers a soulfully bumpin' interpretation with funky guitars and warm melodic keys. Chris Gray & Joe Baron aka Paulo & Rodriguez with the help of musician Mark Fesco deliver a wonderful neo-disco reworking that is full of soulful moments and features a fantastic insturmentation. Lastly there is the full vocal version of Dom Navarra's remix (the dub was included in the first part of this release).
CHUCK LOVE "Soul Symphony Remixes EP" (OM Records/CD Promo)
OM Records present this lovely EP of remixes of Chuck Love's debut for the label (released in spring of last year). The Groove Junkies kick off the EP with their reworking of "Soul Symphony", a deeply stormin' affair that is full of funky flavors and features a great instrumentation that creates an irresistible vibe. Next is the Jimpster remix of "Livin' At Night", coming on a moody electro house tip with acid drops. Closing down is the JT Donaldson dub of "Something Right" that takes the track on a deep underground tip.
LA FIESTA SOUND SYSTEM "Dancando Comigo" (Soulfuric Trax/CD Promo)
Hadyn Walker, Levi Foster & Justin Shave are La Fiesta Sound System droppin’ their debut single with "Dancando Comigo", a track based on a smooth tribal house groove that is enhanced with Afro percussion and features seducive Brazilian vocal and a wonderful brass section. Richard Earnshaw provides the remixes, with the vocal version being a deeply tumpin' affair that features wicked keys alongside the vocal, while the dub is the pick for peaktime play with its hypnotic key riffs. For the creative DJ, there is a key-riff-apella included.
SOJORN "Anthem For Urban Life" - Groove Junkies Remixes (Progressive Global/CD Promo)
This track is taken from Sojorn's When The Lights Go Down long player and gets remixed by the Groove Junkies who give it a summery feeling by using a funktified groove that is enriched with melodic keys, lovely guitar and jazzy flute. Together with the soulful female vocals, the instrumentation creates an uplifting and irresistible vibe that is guaranteed to take you through summer and maybe even longer.
In the Spotlight: SUMO The Danceband LP (HEYA HIFI/CD)
 Swedish duo SUMO (Combo and Alf Tumble) follow up the successful remix compilation Rebounces with their debut artist album titled The Danceband. The eleven tracks of this album - some of which should be familiar as they have been released on 12" as teaser for the album - continue what started with their first releases in the late 1990's and has been continued since. It is a brilliant showcase of SUMO's versatility as it combines various musical styles like house, Afro, Latin, disco, tribal, jazz and electronic sounds, creating a fresh and diversified fusion. With lots of world class vocalists and musicians featured, it it just a matter of time until there will be a SUMO live band presenting these wonderful songs. A highly recommended album.
