Thereafter, some fresh tunes which,
although recently released, may well put their producers into the race for the
supreme recognition while currently burning their faces and boddies under the
boiling sun of Florida…
Meanwhile Sweden's famous Markus Enochson should reveal anytime his
latest cut soon to appear on Jazzanova's label, his country fellows, Raw
Fusion label people deliver an infectious piece of afro/phunk groove – "Living
This Planet" - by Damn! enlighted by much respected Yam Who going
out of their usual soulful downtempo atmospheres.
Just put our hands prior to our landing on a shared 12" white label featuring an
old tune called "I Won't Complain" by Jazmina and, most notoriously two
not to be missed early cuts from Blaze which, according to what we've
been told, were unreleased so far, called "I'm Happy" and "Mr Perkins" with this
usual fluidity that has made their reputation. Floetry
has another tune to be issued on that kind of parallel market, "Getting Late"
delivered with an irresistible treatment from The D.F.A. team subliming
the groove like we may expect from them. Meanwhile, Antonio Ocasio who
scored IDMW.com's first single of the week of this year 2K4, is
back on the blocks with "" on Wave Music displaying a winning combination of
psychedelic keys over some latin cuban rhythm with the x-tra help of François
K. in da… remix ! Meanwhile Frankie Feliciano goes further more on
the latinish/West Indies territory as usual, producing the new release on his
own label (Ricanstruction) with the sensuous and shiny "Todo De Ti" for
Sterling Ensemble featuring Rita Quintero, equally unmissable.
Although far less mediatised, Chicagoan,
Terry Hunter is around with some goodies on his latest 12" on MAW Records
including the deep "Monster Rhythm", with the participation of Glenn
Underground doin' the keys ; the result of this collaboration havin' that
classy vein which has heavily contributed to the reputation of Srs Dope &
Vega's label throughout the years. And if that wasn't enough, he's also got a very festive B-side "Ya Ya Ya" that may well do
it while having a break at some tropical destination. Meanwhile, Louie Vega
looks set to have another corker during the Conf' with his commitment to
Montreal Tapis Rouge Remix project with the vibrant "Embella" featuring
local talent Jaffa. AWE-SOME, really !!!
A little bit… rocky on its original version on
France's Mixture label, Martin Solveig's "Rocking Music" gets a more
funky jazzy feel under the hands of Joey Negro on what might well become
another serious contendant for the Crown coming from the Defected stable, we
shall see. Meanwhile UK jocks/promoter Paul Farris who has definitely not
got his ears on his pocket seems to have something for Subliminal Soul's phonky
newie "Sting" by Praise Cats
featuring Andrea Love which he has
currently charted as #6 on his current top 10. Not a bad choice neither that
deserves a careful attention should you like those kinds of groovy key lines.
Watch this space.
