IDRIS MUHAMMAD
For Your Love
Fantasy/Promo |
Considered by many as the father of acid jazz after his previous works with Grant Green and Lou Donaldson to name but a few, New Orleans born drummer Leo Morris, better known under the Idris Muhammad guise, would drop quite a bunch of serious grooves as a solo artist, beginning with the much in demand ‘Could Heaven Ever Be Like This’ on Kudu Records which had quite impact on the UK jazz scene at the time. He later on signed a recording deal with Fantasy releasing 3 albums including Make It Count whereas is to be found this vibrant cut enlighted by a symphonic intro and a stunning vocal interpretation by the likes of a certain Claytoven. So emotional, to say the least. MFSB
