Goa
There is still time to join the The Big Chill in Goa on April 14th-15th. Check the links at http://www.bigchillindia.in If you have bought your ticket, pop along to bigchillindia.in, download the eflyer, and then bounce up & down in your seat saying 'ohyesohyesohyesohyes'.
Some of us, like Alabama 3, ain't going to Goa. If that's you, don't worry - The Big Chill House and The Big Chill Bar are staying put too. And in a defiant hand gesture in the direction of the Goa crowd, both venues have got such great programmes in April that they're practically showing off...
The Big Chill House
Quality midweek music in April, with Ashley Beedle's Warbox on Thursday 5th (an unofficial Faith warm-up), Crazy P (live) on Thursday 12th, Exceptional Records return on Weds 18th after a humdinger of a launch night in March, If Music give you what you need on the 19th, paris-london.org spotlights musique francaise on Wednesday 25th and Mixmaster Morris takes off with Loft in Space on Thursday 26th.
The Chiller Cabinet cools down Saturday afternoon on the 21st with the Arctic Circle (live), plus other live acts and DJs, new and old.
Laughs abound in April. Hootenanny stuffs Sunday revellers tums with roasts, their ears with great live music and DJs, and their laughing glands with top comedy - guest curators in April include The Local (1st), Paul Foot (8th), Phil Whelans (15th), Name Records (22nd) and DJ Wheelie Bag (29th). There more comedy too, as Old Rope showcases new material on Monday nights and Paul Foot and Trevor Lock's Unbelievably Hard Public Quiz turns Tuesday 24th into a diary date. Of course, Friday and Saturday nights are party nights - with regulars like Phantom Beats, Ninja Tune's You Don't Know, Nice Up!, Shuttle, Lasermagnetic and Disco Sucks among this month's weekend party animals.
As ever - you can get the skinny on the coming month's Housebound entertainment at http://www.bigchill.net/story/1866/housewhatson.html
Don't forget the food - Pure pie and pizza now served from midday until late, and daily lunch specials throughout April too. Check the updated House menus:

The best bar in Brick Lane continues to bring quality decksmiths from all over the world and from diverse musical genres - to play for East End drinkers and diners. Grab your fifteen minutes of fame (not to mention the chance of a DJ slot at Eastnor) at Open Dex on the 18th, and check out the furthest-travelled musicologist Psyrock @ the kiwi-flavoured Spacific on 4th. Special mention too to the Warm afternoon sessions on Easter Bank holiday Monday (9th), Sat 14th (13.00-20.00), and 28th (13.00-20.00). Guests so special we're not allowed to tell you who they are in advance - but oh. my. gosh. are they special guests...

Radio
After the success of his August Bank Holiday special last summer, Pete Lawrence returns to the Radio 2 airwaves in the early hours of Easter Monday for the latest installment. Pete says "Doing the Radio 2 show live was a definite year highlight for me and I'm looking forward to getting back into the studio. My producer Helen comes to the festival and is great to work with. She has been tirelessly campaigning for more chill shows for a couple of years now and it's great to see that these slots are becoming regular fixtures in the schedule."

Competitions
Admit it, you've scrolled all the way to the end of this first to find out if you're famous - haven't you? An avalanche of emails with everyone wanting their 15 seconds of fame, and pile of CDs pilfered at random from desks at BCHQ. So, famous for 15 seconds and about to have their CD collection boosted is... LYNN CROSSLAND. Congratulations, Lynn - CDs on their way to you. Bask in your limelight. If you are Lynn, you're probably thinking 'gosh' and forwarding this email onto friends. If you are not Lynn, you're probably thinking - 'But what about my free stuff? What about my fame? Why do i never win anything ever? What about ME, dammit?' Well worry not because we're doing it all over again. Up for grabs this time is a pile of CDs and your name in the next mailshot. Not only that but in the HTML version of the email your name will be in a DIFFERENT TEXT COLOUR to the rest of the text. This must be what the early days at Pixar felt like... Fame is never easy though, and you'll have to work for this one. Email competitions@bigchill.net with the subject line 'MAKE ME...', and in the body of the email write your favourite colour and your postal address. You never know, this time next month you could be going through the same dizzying range of emotions that LYNN CROSSLAND is going through right now.
