Welcome to the King Street Special Events Bulletin for July 2007. In this issue we'll be highlighting artists that have had releases or are currently on the label and appearing in NYC & surrounding metro area. Futher to events that just took place like Louie Vega's special appearance Quentin Harris' KBMA Paradise Garage Tribute at Webster Hall, you'll see LIVE sets and performances by Dennis Ferrer, Tony Humphries, Joe Claussell, Kenny Bobien, Stephanie Cooke, Monique Bingham, Danny Krivit , and Sunshine Jones. The 2nd Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival in Newark, NJ celebrates The Spirit of Music and Dance with a blazing four day / four genre FREE outdoor concert series, July 26 - 29, 2007. The series kicks-off on Thursday, July 26, with a photo exhibition and opening reception featuring a melodious jazz set by Cecil Brooks III and CB3 Band with beloved songstress Miki Howard. On Friday, July 27, a soul stirring gospel music concert will be held in Lincoln Park with gospel mega-artist Richard Smallwood and Vision and many other artists and performers. The beat never ends on Saturday, July 28, with a house music concert featuring internationally renowned house DJ's Tony Humphries, Joaquin "Joe" Claussell, Naeem Johnson, and Jihad Muhammad. The house concert also features live musical performances by Kenny Bobien, Stephanie Cooke, Monique Bingham, and the legendary Loleatta Holloway. The festival concludes on Sunday, July 29 with concert celebrates hip hop history with the 30th Rock Steady Crew Anniversary Celebration of hip hop history featuring performances by Crazy Legs of Rock Steady Crew, EPMD, Keith Murray , Biz Markie, DJ Spinna, Grandmaster Mele Mel, Ras Kass, Lords of the Underground, Planet Asia and many more.

With Joe Claussell's Sunday weekly at Love on hiatus, a new monthly Sunday event starts at the end of this month. More than just a party, for the first 2 hours, Sunshine Jones,the former frontman for Dubtribe Sound System, will be holding an open discussion forum based on that evening's theme, with different special guests every month.
For this debut event, RESIDENCE, Sunshine welcomes local mainstay, resident of the wildly popular APT afterhours & head of CHEZ Music, Neil Aline, and Club 5, DC resident Hanik, on what it means to be a DJ in residence. This will be broadcast live on 90hz.org.
This is Sunshine's first actual residency in NYC and frankly we wonder what took so long! Sunday, June 29, 2007 Forum: 6pm-8pm Dance: 8pm til late
