The opportunity to have a look back at the evergreen rare groove, jazz/funk Brit scene DTTB are a proud members of since their From Manhattan To Staten Island debut LP back in the second half of the nineties. Taken from their recent Supercharged album released on US label Narada Jazz, this piece of acid jazz as it appears on its original form receives the remix treatment of DJ Spinna smoothing the whole while makin’ both the harmonies, the bassline and the groove rounder with his usual delicate touch (remember Goapele for instance), leavin’ somehow more space to jazz/funk Godness Roy Ayers droppin’ scats over his vibraphone parts, and answerin’ him with an awesome synth play.
