ULTRA NATE
Feel Love – Mixes
(Chillifunk)

Makin' some noise - and God knows she's done
much of it since her first appearances at the end of the 80's – seems like far
from being the key priority for the former Basement Boys protegee. Looks
like our diva has never felt so good on her shoes while working now on by
herself (get ready for her already 5th album on her newly formed BluFire label
sometines this year). What we have here is a well thought return both from
Ultra and Chillifunk who's managed to provide us with four different
interpretations of that delightful song. The original version, produced by the
East West Connection seems like putting its singer back on that cool
tempo territory she embraced with her offshot "Twisted" for Giant Step. Then, we
have Blaze dropping another appealing piece of shinny groove they're
reknown for. Meanwhile, Notenshun, aka Chiilifunk's co-founder Lofty
and Werder Niedermaier provide us with some plaintive atmospheric
jazzy keys over raw drums. Liquid People going to some harder/progressive
territory with an equal efficiency as their collegues. A winning combination
whatever you're into. MFSB
