Having kicked things off 5 years ago SoulBrew aka DJs Andy Bird & Spin Doctor have kept London’s underground vibe alive continuing London's rich history of multi musical and multi cultural partying to the finest soulful sounds from across the spectrum.

With a stream of great one off parties on land and river alike they now are making the move to Electrowerkz on monthly basis with a three rooms offering clubbers a different experience and genres of music under one roof at this fantastic warehouse space. After the huge success of their Easter special with Danny Krivit, DJ Vadim & Jazzie B they are following the formula of 3 great rooms with great guests and as ever a great vibe as every SoulBrew party should be. The vibe both musically and spiritually is always set by the SoulBrew residents Andy Bird & Spin Doctor themselves. Soulful music, top venues, London's finest and funkiest crowd, and a dedication to putting on simply great parties - that's SoulBrew!!

In the house and beats room we welcome two artists championed by Gilles Peterson in last years Worldwide awards - Karizma and Benji B.

DJ Karizma is a Baltimorean who has been dj'ing since he was 13. Having played on Baltimore radio and every worthwhile club in the area he has gone on to wow audiences around the globe with his great sets that have seen him come back time and time again to the Southport weekenders and pretty much every other club he ha played before. He skills on the decks are matched by his skills on the boards as his many productions/re-mix credits from tons of work with the Basement Boys to Black Vinyl records to his latest album on R2 Records all attests.

Benji B is a highly influential underground DJ. He presents his "Deviation" radio show on the BBC's 1xtra every Thursday night, and has developed a reputation over the last 9 years as a skilled DJ, important musical tastemaker and award-winning radio producer and presenter. Known to many as the "Deejay's DJ", and for playing the tunes first that eventually end up in the boxes of the big names, he is about to show discerning clubbers the world over that it's not just the industry insiders who deserve to witness his talents. He blends tunes from all genres of underground music whether it be broken beat, hip-hop, house, garage, jazz, soul or Detroit techno. Always reaching for the deeper side of the music with an ear open to the future, the soulful element is what links the tunes he spins.

Upstairs in the Hip-Hop room we are celebrating Mr Thing’s birthday. As one of the respected and liked players in the UK scene there was no shortage of DJs willing to jump up and represent.

The obvious starting place was his own crew; the phenomenally talented Extended Playerz. Shortee Blitz is one of the best known DJs in the UK with his Kiss FM radio show and various mixtape releases all reaching huge audiences. DJ Mk is a phenomenal club DJ but is as well known for his Kiss FM show and his travels around the world as Roots Manuva’s DJ. Harry Love is the remaining member of the crew who’s reputation is based on his years as resident of London’s Kung Fu. SoulBrew’s own Spin Doctor will also be representing for his good friend Mr Thing with one of his much loved eclectic party sets. Of course the birthday boy himself will be doing his thing alongside his Mc partner Yungun aka Essa who will be holding down the hosting duties for the night. This is the most incredible line up of UK talent that is sure to blow up the spot.

As ever the focus of SoulBrew’s musical inspiration is Soul so to represent this they have the phenomenal Idjut Boys Dan Tyler and Conrad McDonnell A duo who met at Brighton’s “Tonlka” night and have gone on to establish themselves as one of the most respected DJ / production partnerships that have gained admirers in the shape of Francois K & Dimitri From Paris and gone on to remix for artists as varied as The Lighthouse Family & Sound 5. While known for genre blending sets of House, Techno & Disco they will be concentrating on the more soulful side of their selections tonight and be taking our regular crowd through a selection of deep disco & slamming soul.

Joining them are 2 stalwarts of the UK soul scene. BBE’s Peter Adarkwah and Johnny Reckless. Both have a wealth of knowledge of soul and a great feel for what the people want both on the dance-floor and in their homes as they are both equally adept at selling records as they are playing them!
