Not as reknown as groups like Incognito, Shakatak then later on Loose Ends, Direct Drive nevertheless left a serious imprint on the UK disco, soul and electrified funk front back in the 80’s. With 2 of original band members Paul Hardcastle and vocalist Derek Green livin’ the band to give birth to First Light in 1982 then comin’ back 2 years later, Direct Drive came to go through various periods. The best of them being when they regrouped, releasing no less than 5 singles til 1986 with the peak one being this insame jazzy funk jam enlighted by the uncredited presence of vocalist, Helen Rogers who would later on contribute to numerous projects alongside Paul Hardcastle then on his own.
