Music’s most likely the best antidote to recover from the numerous hazards of life as shown by the countless gatherings of people getting to find each other on the floors on an everyday basis. But also as by both artists and DJ’s expressing joy, happiness, hope and dreams, but also rage, sadness, desillusion or fear more or less explicitly… What a better start as to open up the new selection by IDMW editor than the seminal ‘In The Mix’ courtesy of Romanthony, this site somehow takin’ its name from. A classic which was reintroduced this year as our Vintage Of The Week during the Miami Conf last March as was the week before Hi Tek 3’s ‘Come On & Dance’ with production work by Frank De Wulf. Quite a long period covered here judging by the 17 years which have gone from Robert Owens’s ‘Visions’ to this year’s brilliant ‘Movin’ On’ alongside Ron Trent. But also from the classic Deep State II’s ‘Everybody Get Down’ produced by Danny Tenaglia to the shining ‘When U Smile’ seing disco funk diva Patti Labelle alongside Carlos Santana with production work to be credited to the unmissable Darryl James & Fred McFarlane.
