After a 6 years hiatus on a weekly base, NYC
Bang The Party team, Lorie Caval et EMan have decided to wind down
and move forward on to other projects, this marking the end of an era about a
rendez-vous that has caused quite a stir in the Big Apple nightlife.
As for the future of Bang The
Party, said Caval
on an e-statement, it will live on, but in a new and different way. As we
all have grown, personally and artistically, you can bet that there will be a
lot to look forward to from the BTP Crew. In addition to his DJ gigs and his
weekly Deep See event, EMan will continue sewing his live music oats with
Sharrif Simmons and Djinji Brown and their group, Three the Odd Way, while
continuing his career as a vocalist, producer and songwriter.
As for
myself, building upon my history as a nightclub reporter and party producer, I
have a book in the works and am continuing with my freelance writing and Public
Relations work. I'm also working on a number of new songwriting projects and am
continuing work on my poetry, as featured in the new book, Coloring Book : An
Eclectic Anthology of Fiction & Poetry by Multicultural Writers, from Rattlecat
Press.
Also worth to mention,
the documentary, Bang The Party : the Movie, to be complete by early
2004, meanwhile BTP website will remain the place where you can go to find out
about all that's BTP and Pro Deuce. Through the site, you ‘ll also be able to
get your deep house fix with music mixes by Bang The Party DJs, BTP T-shirts,
new beautiful photo galleries by great photographers, and flix of Jackson's
great paintings., not to mention the opportunity to be posted with the BTP
Crew's current projects, as well as any/all new developments through the BTP
Message Board (www.BangTheParty.com)
Not to be missed, the final
Bang The Party WHICH will take place on Fri 12/03 @ the Duplexx.
