DOUBLE U Life Behind A Window SONAR KOLLECTIV-Germany.
He's presenting his song writing and performing talent in his own unique sound
universe. Hard to describe it, but we'd say something between french chanson
style and Prefuse 73 hipfolk hop.
QUANTIC Mishaps Happening TRUTROUGHTS-UK
The third Quantic LP is set for release in June '04. The album features
collaborations with Soul/Funk legend Spanky Wilson, Sonny Akpan
(of the Funkees) and long time collaborator Alice Russell.

GREYBOY Soul Mosaic UBIQUITY-US
For all who like the groove ! Dig it !
Vocalists like Bay Area underground favourite Bart Davenport formerly of
The Kinetics and now a solo artist on Paris Caramel Records sings on the
two sold-out singles "To Know You is To love You" and "Genevieve", cover
versions of a Stevie Wonder tune (originally recorded by Syreeta)
and Cymande respectively. "Genevieve" was nominated as one of the songs
of the year by Radio 1's Worldwide host Gilles Peterson.
NEW SECTOR MOVEMENTS Turn It Up VIRGIN-UK
This album is indeed, as we reviewers like to say,
eclectic, but troof to tell, it's primarily electric. Yup, for the most part,
Turn It Up may focus on letting soul music's traditional instrument - the
voice - breathe and flex, but make no mistake, this is a producer's album. The
b-lines brook no fussy organic wobbling. The beats are compressed and clean, the
synth strings tidy and economic.
3-JAZZ FROM ANOTHER PLANET

EDDIE BERT feat. Jerome Richardson , Oscar Pettiford , Hank Jones... "Modern
Moods" Guilde du Jazz 1958-France
Here's a totally obscure french original jazz on 10inch format inc. a magic
spirit drum flute tune called "Moon & Sand" with a touch of trombone by the
unknown Bert himself !
Something for all serious collectors & "melomanes" ! Hard to find but worth to
be checked on any support !
Thanks to Manu Boubli & Amar

Various "FORUM WEST" SONAR KOLLECTIV-Germany.
This compilation is a result of the Hans Wewerka's music publishing
company, which is one of the most comprehensive publishing archives in West
Germany. Its repertoire contains more than 12,000 titles of all music styles and,
in particular, a jazz catalogue with recordings from the sixties by top-ranking
national and international musicians. From this archive Sonar Kollectiv has
chosen tracks that will be released for the first time, except the recordings
from Wolfgang Dauner and Albert Mangelsdorff.
This compilation can only provide a glimpse into the vaults of the Hans Wewerka
archive. Nevertheless, the chosen tracks bear witness to a very important
creative period in the West-German jazz-scene. Almost 40 years after being
recorded, these tracks well deserve to be finally released.
COLLAGE "12'50" WOOL reissue
Inc. Petis Peiu" & 3 more. LP reissue soon to be re-released on WOOL Records.
Collage 12’50 is an EP of four selected recordings from the Estonian ensemble
Collage. It is brought to you by RGM / Wool Recordings collective artwork
project. The Collage 12’50 EP is presented as a full musical and visual artwork
experience inspired by Collage’s songs and compositions. The jacket is
silk-screened by artist Superheights to give each copy a genuine artistic
quality. Wool Recordings would like to share the experience of the first time we
listened to the informal music of Collage, between Estonian folk songs and
modern pop jazz.
“The Estonian ensemble Collage was founded in 1966 by Raivo Dikson
and included students from the Tallinn Conservatory and the Tallinn School of
Music and Pedagological Institute. Anne Erm, one of the original band’s
voices named the ensemble Collage as its repertoire included a broad range of
music: jazzed-up pop songs, arrangements of classical instrumental music,
scores for small formations, large jazz orchestras and original works by
Estonian composers. Soon the repertoire was further expanded to include
Estonian folk music thanks to a request from the Estonian Television, which
commissioned five folk songs as part of an ethnographic program.
These songs were also included in the ensemble’s first LP: “Collage” released in
1970 (Recording company “Melodija” D-028231-2).

This marvellous red wine from Barossa Valley/ OZ called AMON-RA 2002 -
100% shiraz / 14,5% by Ben Glaetzer ! The best one I ever taste from this
country far away!
Also I had the opportunity to taste a fabulous Italian wine called MESSORIO 1999
"Le Macchiole" Toscana - 100% merlot/13,5%
Finally here's my TOP 5 discoveries Primeurs 2003 from Bordeaux:
Château Canon La Gaffelière

Château Rouget (Pomerol)
Château Pavie (even if it was a bit over extracted!)
Château Montviel & Haut-Larroque (ex-aequo) (Pomerol)
I didn't spend time enough in Medoc this year but I've been in Château
Branaire-Ducru & La Lagune for the wine tastin',both are excellent on millesime

project * : Wine4Melomanes
The wine tasting sessions 'Wine4Melomanes' is put together by myself and the
resident sommelier from the selected wine company, and concerns wines tasted,
supplied and chosen by the venue hosting us. This tasting session has its
originality by being mixed with a few carefully selected tracks chosen by the DJ
for solely hedonistic purposes : preparatory work is needed as soon as the venue
is selected to define the rhythm and colour of the event.
Wine4Melomanes is a media apart and an original means to accompany
your traditions and culture and to share it in a new way.
