True artists
obviously never die and the 1944 born soul diva, ready to enter her fifth decade
in the circuit next year is nuttin' but another living proof to this. Taken from
her recently released Timeless Journey album, this double-pack is in the
true tradition of those evident links existing between soul, funk, R&B and the
dance music area. And when we come to speak about the dance music area, we talk
about the very best of it, as opposed to the so many clichés which have made it
being considered the way it is nowadays by a major crowd. Ever active Louie
Vega at his very best once more subtly gives a bit of hypnotic syncopation
to it, meanwhile Quentin Harris brings his signature to the version he's
been commissionned to do dropping his familiar key arrangements and that's about
the same regarding Kiss FM NY jock Darryl James, reknown for his (soulful)
reworks on Fall Out label. All on all, a winning combination.
