MFSB
who celebrates his 30th year… in da mix this year is back on action with the
follow up to his series of mixtapes, blending classics and hard to find tunes
from those days remembered as the burgeoing period that would give birth to the
international dance music culture. So What you're gonna get on this section is a
weekly series of numerized mixtapes that he's done throughout the years, should
it be early house, R&B, disco, downtempo, soul funk and the likes. Welcome on
board…
Some of the
early house best moments are on display on this mixtape numba 9 in the series,
from Cole & Clivilles produced Seduction outfit to Chicagoan mogul
Marshall Jefferson who apart from his solo works would produce timeless
jewels for Ten City, CeCe Rogers and Kym Mazelle amongst
others. Also on board is Prince long time opponent (remember Purple
Rain ?) Morris Day who also happened to be a member of The Time
alongside Jam & Lewis and Jesse Johnson to name but a few. Then
comes versatile UK crazy Baby Ford, who prior twisting electronics would
give us a bit of pop dance, then Mancunian phenomenons New Order with a
remix from Steve 'Silk' Hurley and female group Bäs Noir who,
prior signing with a major, were discovered by Frank Mendez of defunct Nu
Groove label. This ain't Chicago for sure but it ain't bad neither, is it ?
