WEI-CHI
One I,
Two Eyes
Compost
Tons of good
stuff indeed awaited to see the light this month haven't made the things e-z 4
us 2 come up with a definitive choice. This making our selection more of a
necessity for you to get your ears straight to it. Although wearing a Tibetan
pseudonym, bass player Raul Walton is what we might call a pure product
of the German scene with this collection located at the exact epicenter of
electro and (nu) jazz. So forget about your preconceived ideas at the
perspective of discovering the result of the work of a man whose CV includes
collaborations with a vast array of local names. He, with the help of
(versatile) female singer Merit Osterman adding a lot of sensuality to it
+ producers Ben Mono, Moonstarr, Osunlade, Fauna Flash
and Beanfield, gives us a brilliant and vibrant display of futuristic
groove varying from broken beat, electro jazz, progressive soul, minimal
afro/latin house, atmospheric breakbeat, occasionnally prooving that he also has
the abitily of providing us with organic sounds at their very best. As said by
the label's CEO, Michael Reinboth at the beginning of this year, expect
nothing but the quality from the Compost stable. MFSB
