The famous Amsterdam Dance Event is already behind, leaving us
already in the wait for MIDEM then the Winter Music
Conference which, by the way and despite usual x-tra rumours, is to be
held once more in Miami from 03/22 til 03/26 2005. Not to mention some event of
the likes awaited in June in London… Gotta say that I hardly understand the
investment of such an amount of energy in regards to the cruel weakness of the
works of a vast majority of people around who, in their search of "becoming
someone", deliver nothing but mainly crap and bouring music destined to be
dropped soon after some pollution activity on the usual charts of the genre. Yes
folks, what an energy displayed for what's going to be a simple ass shake at the
end of the day (night !)…
This said, don't get me wrong, as this has
nothing to do with the promoters of the past ADE who, unlike their
WMC' collegues, have a sense of the organization with no equivalent in
the world, making everything to get the attendees in the best conditions for
working. Naaaa, once again, this rather has to do with the attendees themselves
who, apart from a few notorious exceptions, i are ronicallyeasier to be gathered
on the basis of artistic talent lack than the contrary !!! Money, money, money
as opposed to skills. Noise and clichés as opposed to emotions and ground
breaking… The question being how long is this going to last for f*** sake !!!
Some of you might be tempted to answer : as long as the crowd will follow… Okay
then, what makes the crowd follow ? On this precise case, I would say financial
support thus resulting in advert and coverage by subsequent media. Then what
about the significent amount of people which have attended the 3 Kindred
Spirits nights at the same period ???
No Tiesto there or jocks in the same caliber, but simply hard workerz
devoted to their passion who'd put their guts in providing us with talented
artists by the likes of Lady Alma, Rich Medina, the Rude
Movements clan (Karl Injex and Tyler Askew), Peven Everett,
Breakestra and Platinum Pied Pipers amongst many others melting
soul, house, funk, hip hop and nu jazz in front of a delighted crowd. As many
names who would fully deserve wide exposure for the simple reason of providing
us with music that have some sense. Is there really any new music ? was aked on
the ADE Daily publication no later than last Saturday. Would like
to say that it's not a question of new but good music at the end of the day and
if asked if there's any good music, I'd definitely say yes even though we have
to search for it due to the fact that a vast majority of mags do not respect
this supposed to be elementary standard.
