Defected exclusively unveil
new 'Strings of Life' vocal.
No doubt that you will
already have heard about the success of last night House Music Awards
ceremony at Neighbourhood.
The event was massively
supported by the house music industry and was a great indication of the vibrant
house scene that we all enjoy today.
Defected would like to
congratulate all nominees and winners at this years event and especially extend
our thanks to Paul Farris and Mel Louise who worked hard and
pulled out all the stops to make this happen.
We were proud to accept 6
awards at HMA for the following categories.
Label of the year, Standout
WMC event, Artist of the year - Junior Jack,
Album of the year - Junior
Jack 'Trust It', Best Breakthrough producer - DJ Gregory Outstanding Vocal
Ron Carroll "Back Together"
The ceremony gave us the
opportunity of exclusively revealing the new vocal version of 'Strings of Life'
powerfully sung by the legendary diva, Kathy Brown.
Simon Dunmore
says : It is ironic that the House Music Awards have been held two days after
the Brits announce that they are no longer going to continue with their dance
music category. It was obviously a decision made by people with no clue about
what is happening under their noses. It was great to have the opportunity to
acknowledge all the acts and events that Defected are involved with, and we are
especially pleased to know that the work we do is recognised by the dance music
community itself.
Defected will be continuing
their celebrations this Saturday at Ministry of Sound, with award winners and
nominees Sandy Rivera, Junior Jack and Kid Creme, Martin
Solveig and Simon Dunmore.
There will be a special LIVE
showcase at Midnight. 5 tracks from the new KOT album Trouble will
be sung by 5 different vocalists. There will also be a live P.A. from Jay
Sebag performing 'Rocking Music'.
