Quite a while without hearing about Dennis F. At least under his own name, knowing that he's done quite a stir with his "Sandcastles" series alongside Jerome Sydenham on Ibadan this added to his recent reworks of "Nothing Is Impossible" and "Stay", respectively for Dubtribe Sound System and S.U.M.O. Not to mention the current recording of his awaited debut-LP !!! Nearly impredictable at the current time, our long time friend who's made himself a reputation while providing us with a whole bunch of joyful Afro-Latin tinged grooves opens his credit for Defected with this post abstract Philly Sound corker around lush jazzy moods with a drop of melancholy making the whole far more vibrant. Meanwhile the B-side is another one of his secret Afro tribal fuelled weapons blended with a guitar solo alla Santana. The sun is going up… MFSB
