Lots of sweet vibes this week for your ears...
We're kicking things off with "Don't Outstay Outside Tonight" by Pascal Rioux
featuring Mr Day, a truly soulful affair coming in different variations that
all keep it soulful on a midtempo tip. A well deserved Pick of the Week
it got together with "M.U.S.I.C." by Kiko Navarro featuring Marcel, a
jazzy and groovy track with spoken words.
The Rurals take on a jazzy
production by Eddie Matos and add their sweetness to it, while 2nd
Shift feauring Heather are back on Seasons with the funktified "Are You
Ready For The Future".
For the garage heads, there is the DFA
reworking of the Timmy Regisford produced "More Than Material" by
Patti Labelle and "A New Day" by Stephanie Cooke, produced by 83
West. Fanatix take on "Everyday" by The Sunburst Band to make
the garage heart of the song shine.
Remember the Quincy Jones classic
"Ai No Corrida" ? It is back in some updated form by Sugar Bomb, ready to
rock the dancefloors. More retro vibes can be found on "Open Your Mind" by
Mango Company, while Grant Nelson adds a latinesque touch to "River
Song" by Bebel Gilberto. Two tracks to destroy the dancefloors are the
Dennis Ferrer remixes of "Most Precious Love" by Blaze featuring Barbara
Tucker and "Skunk" by The Funk Ensemble which samples a classic
acapella to full effect.
