A decision has
been made to cancel Darryl James’ Mix at 6 on 98.7 Kiss FM
effective December 31, 2004 without warning. The mix show will be cancelled with
no future insight for any shows involving Darryl James. We MUST NOT and CANNOT
allow this to happen !
Darryl James
is responsible for consistently and successfully breaking new R&B records
including Heather Headley, Usher, Alicia Keys, Kem,
Glenn Lewis, all the Quentin Harris remixes (Jagged Edge),
etc. while playing all of your favorite jams including underground, local, soul
and classic dance songs you don't get to hear on a regular basis on other
stations. These include "Jamaica Funk", "Keep In Touch Body To Body", "Boogie
Wonderland", "Love Hangover", "Follow Me" and more. His rotation also includes
those wonderful DFA remixes such as: "Love Calls" by Kem, "Heartbreak"
by Mariah Carey, "More More More" by Joe, "If I Can’t Have You" by
Alicia Keys, "It's Not Fair" by Glenn Lewis and "Do You Know" by
Donny.
Despite the
listing on the KissFM website, Darryl’s Saturday night mix
show from 09:00pm-01:00am was cancelled quietly in September.
This station was
built from Street/Club DJs and had the best in variety when it came to DJs
playing records on the air. Some of the names that that have graced KissFM
radio shows that are no longer include Timmy Regisford
(ClubShelter) and Tony Humphries (Club Zanzibar, Yellorange Records, YO
Ltd, Tony Records). Kiss took Tony and Timmy off the air already.
Don’t let it happen to the Mix at 6!
What a better
way to end your day with positive, uplifting soulful music. If you are in
support of this petition, please sign in with your real name, zip code and why
you feel the mix show should be kept on the air. Thank you for your support.
