Dancing to architecture, Upper East Side style: For the next few weeks, there will be more happening music during Friday happy hour on the Upper East Side than there will be in the downtown nightclubs.
Friday, August 12 from 6:00 – 9:00pm, August 12, Cooper-Hewitt Museum for Design at 2 E. 91st St., continues its summer sessions of sultry sunset parties filled with killer DJs in the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden. Brooklyn native DJ Kervyn Mark of the Melting Pot NYC whose recent release of the mixed CD of the “Maestro” soundtrack has come out to rave reviews, is on the spot spinning his delectable mix of global dance music.
It's worth the ride uptown to hear local and international DJs spin early evening sets at this design museum. When you tire of music, drinking and dancing outside, check out the exhibits inside. Currently on display is "Extreme Textiles: Designing High Performance"--which explores innovations made in materials used for aerospace, architecture, medicine and more--and "Hella Jongerius Selects: Works from the Permanent Collection," an exhibit of needlepoint and embroidery.
Cost is free with Museum admission: $10, general adult; $7 students and
seniors.
Also, later that night The Melting Pot NYC is having a free afterparty celbrating the birthday team member Diane Rodriguez and all Leo's @ CRIME SCENE, 310 Bowery, between Bleeker and Houston Streets! Spinning will be Donna Edwards, Andre Collins and Kervyn Mark
