BounceFM.Com did not make it to the 2006 Miami Music Conference. In order to gauge the conference, its effectiveness and its results, BounceFM.Com held a survey. We’ve assembled highlights of survey responses detailing highs and lows of Miami 2006. Here’s some of what they had to say:
WHAT WAS THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE?
Peven Everette (hands down)
**DJ True
WHICH DJ(S) STOOD OUT FROM AMONGST THE PACK? WHY?
Dennis Ferrer at the Soul Heaven party at Pearl... I nearly hopped right though the roof. Rich Medina for Jump N' Funk at the Marlin...I came straight from the beach and danced in my bathing suit, nearly lost my Afrobeat-lovin' mind! Ian Friday rocked it for the
Westend party at A-Bar too.
**Lorie BANG THE PARTY Caval
WERE THERE ANY TOPICS AND/OR GROUPS OF PEOPLE THAT YOU FELT WERE OVER-REPRESENTED IN MIAMI?
A lot… First all “Vip Djs” that at the beginning of their career became “famous” playing / producing Deep & Soulful House and now in their gigs they are playing techno-progressive-commercial-garbage to cash money with the ‘entries’…
**Harley & Muscle
WHAT DID YOU LIKE LEAST ABOUT MIAMI?
More and more I’m growing tired of many aspects of Miami winter music conference. It’s getting too industrial with huge parties churning out 15k flyers and just trying to get people in there . . .
WHAT WAS THE SONG (OR SONGS) OF THE CONFERENCE?
Well in the lack of the standout track I’d name a few. Charles Websters remix of DJ Ino, Da Bump by Mr V and Alix Alvarez and I’d say that my track Love is on the way got a decent amount of plays.
