Just call him Professor Osunlade ‘cause he’s droppin’ science. BounceFM.Com is proud to present Osunlade, who we jokingly refer to as the High Priest of House, but whose music and sensibility we seriously respect (or in the words of Ali G, Respek!). On the eve of his annual pilgrimage to bless the turntables at NYC’s hottest Sunday party, Benny & Cabiria’s 718 Sessions, starring DJ Danny Krivit, we present Osunlade in is own words. Enjoy! Special thanks to Osunlade for making time for the interview. See you this Sunday on the danecfloor!

WHATS THE MOST COMMON MISTAKE RECORD LABELS MAKE?
I don’t think there are mistakes really if I had to say a major problem, it would be the lack of good A&R or objective listeners. People create music and start labels now for the wrong reasons, its usually to become famous or feed an ego, or simply make money..the mistake would be bad music. Music is a creative art that needs to be true in order to grow.

DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A DJ FIRST OR PRODUCER FIRST?
Neither, a musician first, then producer, DJing is a hobby for me..

WHATS THE MOST COMMON MISTAKE MADE IN HOUSE MUSIC?
Shitty drums, bad vocals!

WHATS THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION ABOUT HOUSE MUSIC?
That it’s a community..its not

WHO WAS YOUR CHILDHOOD HERO?
My father
