BACKLASH // 001 // Digital Circus EP Roll Up, The Circus is coming to town...
Digital Circus are coming to town as Backlash's new record label officiall launches this month.
Having been consistently one of Ireland's best clubs over the last three years and with so much
Irish talent starting to emerge a record label was the next logical next step for us.
The label will be digital downloads only initialy but we have plans to expand into other formats also.
Our first release comes from Digital Circus, who are brothers Colin & Ronan Flynn who only formed
in 2005 but have already gone on to play at major festivals including a tent shaking preformance at
this years Electric Picnic festival (www.electricpicnic.ie)
Ronan is a dj at Dublin's Stereotonic night and produces for Julian Sanza's (Silver City) label, Heartbeat
Revolutions while Colin also records under the name Moogatron.
The live show is a huge part of what Digital Circus are about and for live performances they expand the
line up to include a bass player (James Griffin), percussionist (Simon Giligan) and will be adding more
members to the line-up soon
Digital Circus provide us with juicy melody infected synthpop that takes its melodyic inspiration from disco
and Italo classics by Mr Flaggio, M&G, Patrick Cowley & Giorgio Moroder. as well as recent acts Metro Area,
Silver City, Rick James, Underworld, Gary Numan, Daft Punk, Hot Chip and Spirit Catcher,
We did a pre-release on www.juno.co.uk and peaked at number 2 in their bestsellers chart, even
surprising us by outselling established acts like Alex Kid so we're expecting big things for their debut EP.
