Be prepared for something fresh and special when Ralf GUM signs a track just to put out own remixes. Instantly when he heard „The Way It Was“ he deeply was into the brilliant, spiritual vocals of this Inaya Day tune. Unfortunately the music of the original version, produced and recorded back in 2001 by DJ Nativeson, got lost, but fortunately the vocal tracks still existed on his hard drive. Hence Ralf GUM and CrisP got onto it and added their own stamp of musicianship. The infectious beat plus the slightly electronic but ultra deep music create the right background to let the vocals shine.
Choose between the full mix entitled “Ralf GUM & CrisP’s Way” and the reduced “Acid Soul Dub” for those who prefer an instrumental tune. As a bonus “Ralf GUM’s Beat” is added for the creative DJ. This is 2007 deep house in perfection and after the latest celebrated GOGO Music releases “The Way It Was” has without any doubt everything to get another classic.

‘Ralf GUM and CrisP’s Way’ mix clocks in at an epic sized eleven and a half minutes and its strength lies in its funky use of electronic sounds and Inaya Day’s brilliantly emotive vocals. Its not quite the typical jazzy and soulful style that we usually cover on this page but none the less this should strike a chord with those feeling soul based music with a definite edge. As GOGO have been releasing some great music over the past number of years I’d recommend you give this a chance too. by Greg Fenton

For once, GOGO Music license a track and release it with slammin' remixes courtesy of Ralf GUM & CrisP. "The way it was" was produced back in 2001 by DJ Nativeson, but as the original music got lost we will never know what it sounded back in the day. Inaya Day delivers a passionate yet spiritual vocal peformance that is beautifully arranged over a deeply stormin', slightly techified backing groove that is absolutely relentless, with the wicked electrofied keys intensifying the vibe. by Michael Fossatti
