COMMUNITY – ANDY BLAKE - 6HR SET

Saturday sees our first official date for the new weekly Saturday nights. We are aiming to reunite the best home grown talent in South London whilst accommodating some of the world’s finest DJs, bringing about a return of the underground spirit and affinity for the area that has been so strong in the past. To kick start the season we’ve invited fellow South London head and top man at the elusive and excellent Dissident records Andy Blake to play a 6 hour set taking the night many places indeed. Although getting massive mentions about his World Unknown events, also in Brixton, Andy will be exploring our musical policy to make way for a big room event! Expect varying house flavors with slashes of techno and disco along the way.

World renowned dj, producer and graffiti artist (one of the first to be arrested for his art in the UK!), Richard Sen of Padded Cell heads down along with a third of legendary UK dance act Chicken Lips – Stevie Kotey. This dynamite combo set the path for a rocking night of disco-dub, electro-funk and of course all things deep and house! Stevie - man of the huge Bear Funk label, featuring the likes of Lindstrom, Ray Mang and Theo Parrish; appears of his return from the huge We Love Space series in Ibiza. To round the bill off we have our newly listed resident Danny Clark from the Late Night Audio imprint warming up; Danny’s debut for Community in August shows he certainly knows how to get the party off!

In conjuction with FACT we welcome a rare set from Detroit producer and disco aficionado Moodymann (this will be his only London date until early 2011), accompanying him is the jewel in Eglo Records’ crown – Floating Points and to boot we'll have South London’s perspective on house with a pumping live set, Wbeeza of Third Ear. Plus more coming guests to be announced! Community promises to redefine the scene in Brixton and South London as a whole with a fresh perspective on how Saturdays nights in one of the most musically rich and forward thinking cities in the world, should sound.

COMMUNITY – WILD GEESE / ALLEZ ALLEZ / ALEX BRADLEY (LOVE FEVER)

Community’s base of residents, who are all well known for their long term association with Brixton, are a big aspect of Community. And Frank Tope (one of the original Rooty DJs) will make a debut for us with his Wild Geese partner and A&R man at the infamous R&S records - Mr Dan Foat. These guys have been pumping the airwaves since last year with their form of classic-and-nu-disco, tech and Chicago house, expect nothing less! Allez Allez – blog kings with an incredible back catalogue of exclusive guest mixes will be spinning all things weird, wonderful and danceable. And to finish Alex Bradley from the revered and underground Love Fever nights, will get the ball rolling. Prepare to dance the night away to a free spirited mix of disco, deep house, dubbed out techno, leftfield & sleazy sounds.
