Would very much be tempted to say : let give back to Ceasar's what is Ceasar's while listening to this consistent release. You may be familiar with this label, remembering the explosive Bongo Maffin as remixed by Dennis F as well as remembering having heard of B.O.P. for a couple of 12" on MAW Records. Well, they look like just being the shown part of the iceberg : in other words of a boiling South African scene. A scene that, according to DJ Gregory who's been there, looks itself like the eldorado of (deep) house. The only difference (& what a difference at the end of the day !) being that these afrikan vibes' R genuine as opposed to those much in demand Africa/West Indies influenced productions that have emerged since a couple of years here or there… Needless to say that this double-CD is a precious document providing us with a wide angle lense on a local scene we haven't heard that much of so far. Nevertheless, quality is definitely around and is worth to mention, containing a whole bunch of true gems, should be into these kinds of Africanism extrapolations as well as the most soulful/jazzy/phonky/groovy slices of house around with that inevitable piece of the Motherland of all the rhythms, by the likes of DJ Fresh, DJ Vetkuk, Vinny Da Vinci, Jerah, Glen Lewis and Ganyani to name but a few…
